ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan Wednesday took a swipe at former prime minister Nawaz Sharif for railing against the judiciary.
Reacting to Sharif’s outburst after dismissal of his plea to merge three corruption reference against him into one, Khan said in a tweet, “Nawaz Sharif should be ashamed of himself for openly attacking SC judges simply because they exposed his ill-gotten money & corruption.”
“Nawaz attacking & seeking to destroy state institutions to try & save his billions in loot plundered from nation,” he said in another tweet. Talking to media after his appearance before the accountability court on Wednesday, the former prime minister said that his family was denied a fair trial.
“Their (judges) malice and wrath is manifested in their words. This wrath and words will become a dark chapter of the history,” he said.
“The judiciary has written several dark chapters in the Pakistan’s history and this verdict too will be written in dark letters,” he added.
The accountability court on Wednesday rejected a requested made by the former prime minister for a single trial on all the three references filed against him by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).
